This practice was built on the philosophy of minimal intervention and prevention starting in 1978.
Fissure sealant and topical fluoride programmes were introduced in 1978 and the results are now clearly demonstrated in those patients who still attend the practice for their oral health care and now bring their own children.
It is the success of this philosophy, patient education and sympathetic approach which has led to the practice expanding from nothing to a 6 surgery practice with 5 dentists, 5 hygienist/therapists and 14 dental nurses/educators.
We provide a minimal intervention service which means providing the minimum amounts of interventive treatment and the maximum amount of prevention and education.
We have achieved this by following the protocols you have read on the previous page.
The practice is the living proof that it works and we hope you will agree and take advantage of the service at the practice to help you to look after your oral health and achieve the World Health Organisation target of keeping sufficient natural teeth for life.
